About the seminar
Across Europe, social services play a crucial role in people’s lives, which is why we are exploring ways to further strengthen their capacity to respond to the voices and needs of those they serve.
Join us for this webinar, part of the Horizon Europe RESPONSIVE project, to explore how we can strengthen responsiveness in social services through smarter legal and policy frameworks.
We’ll share key findings from six countries (Austria, Denmark, France, Poland, Portugal, Romania) and highlight inspiring examples where citizen participation is making a difference.
Here are some of the reflective questions we’ll explore together in the webinar:
How can stronger legal and policy frameworks help transform citizen participation from consultation to meaningful co-creation and shared decision-making in social services?
What can policymakers and organizations do to proactively engage the voices of people who are often excluded – such as young people at risk, people with disabilities or those experiencing mental health problems?
How would requiring social services to report on how citizen input shapes decisions improve trust, transparency and accountability?
In what ways can resources be allocated to support not only participation but also citizens’ capacity to engage meaningfully?
What role should people with lived experience in the governance, design and evaluation of social services play?
Let’s rethink the future of social services — not just as systems of support, but as democratic spaces for co-creation, inclusion, and change.
